Spine Center > Our Advantage
Spine Diagnosis & Treatment
At Oak Tree Medical Center, we perform both CT and C-Arm fluoroscopic guided cervical, thoracic, and lumbar selective procedures which are both diagnostic (to identify the exact source of pain) and therapeutic (to alleviate the pain).
We always employ precise image guidance and documentation for all procedures utilizing our state-of-the-art Siemens multi-detector CT, or our GE 9800 1K C-arm fluoroscopy with road mapping and digital subtraction.
At Oak Tree Medical Center, we are able to utilize the versatility of our multiple modalities in order to achieve a new level of precision and accuracy when performing image guided procedures. This advantage is derived from a facility designed specifically to address spine pain, and the experience that comes from interpreting thousands of spine MRI and CT scans, performing thousands of image guided spine procedures, and correlating the results.
Blocks and injections generally fall into the following categories, whether in the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar region:
- Translaminar (Interlaminar) epidural steroid injection (TL/ESI)
- Transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFE), also called periradicular therapy (PRT)
- Selective nerve root blocks (SNRB)
- Facet joint blocks

Diagnosis
What distinguishes Oak Tree Medical Center from most spine interventionalists is that we have the ability to both interpret diagnostic scans and treat disorders all in the same facility. Additionally, most of our diagnostic interpretations contain clinical correlation to aid in treatment planning.
We are able to achieve this through our latest generation high-field Philips Achieva 1.5T MRI and Multi Slice CT scanners which allow our radiologists to perform specialized protocols to use in spine diagnosis.
The Treatment
Our primary goal of conservative management is to improve quality of life by controlling pain, promoting full recovery, disc reabsorbtion and reduction of inflammation, while avoiding the cost and potential complications of surgery.
To achieve this we perform both CT and C-Arm fluoroscopic guided cervical, thoracic, and lumbar selective procedures which are both diagnostic (to identify the exact source of pain) and therapeutic (to alleviate the pain).
